St Georges Day Celebrations

23rd April 2012 the nursery celebrated St Georges Day. The practitioners retold the story of George and the Dragon to the children. The children used props and fancy dress to act out the tale. Other activities included making junk model dragons, working together to produce a large England flag, croquet out on the 'lawn'. For lunch a traditional English meal was served - Fish and Chips. Amanda sold the food from her 'Fish and Chip Emporium' the children paid with play money and sampled different condements.

Teddy Bears Picnic

St Mary's Nursery is teaming up with St Mary's College Performing Arts students to raise money for Derian House. The nursery will hold a week of activities around the theme of Teddy Bears Picnic which children can get involved with. The week will end with a large picnic on the field on Friday 20th April for children in the nursery on a Friday. Children will also be asked to make a donation of £2.00 to Derian House and bring their teddy along.

Nursery Library Club

St Marys Nursery will be offering a Library Club starting after the Easter Holidays for all three year olds. To promote the enjoyment of books, children will be able to borrow books from the nursery.

They will receive their own library pack complete with record book to draw and write about their stories, log sheet to record the books they have borrowed and a personalised book mark. The children will be able to choose one book at a time and must borrow and swap their books from the office with Amanda.
