Explorers Christmas Party! 

We had so much fun at the college sports hall for our party- we had games, prizes, dancing and even Santa dropped by to see us and bring us a book. 

As many of you will already be aware, we have always aimed for ALL of the St. Mary's Team to have suitable Paediatric First Aid Training.

100% of our staff have done the 12 hour Paediatric First Aid Training.

We are currently in the process of applying for an accreditation for 'Millie's Mark'

Messy Babies... Exploring the Gloop! 

Gloop is made from cornflour, water and a drop of food colouring all mixed together...

Superhero - Friendship Activity

The children were sat in a circle, they were all given a loop to hold. The ball of string was then passed around the circle to different friends creating a spiders web. We sang- 

Upon a spider's web one day 

one little spider went out to play 

upon a spider's web one day 

they found it such enormous fun 

that they asked another friend to come!

The String was then left out for the children to create webs to catch the villains in our play area. There were pictures placed around the area and the children worked together to catch them all, talking through their ideas as they worked !!! 

Introducing Our New Pet Hamster!!! 

Sadly Rosie the Hamster passed away last week... She lived a good life for a hamster and we have lots of happy memories of her. 

Thank you to all the parents that suggested a name for our new hamster, the children voted for their favourite from all the names suggested and she is called HERBIE!! She is SO cute  : ) 

A reminder to all parents that Nursery closes on Friday 23rd December 2016 and will re open on Tuesday 3rd December 2017...

Santa brought all of the children a lovely book...

Feelings Box - this helps the children to understand / discuss feelings and emotions. The cards have different scenarios on them which the key worker reads out and the children decide whether they would feel Sad, Happy, Angry or Scared and post them in the appropriate box. 

Christmas Lunch... 

Today we enjoyed a Traditional Christmas Lunch with all the trimmings, prepared by our amazing cook Dawn! It was delicious... All children and staff ate together and enjoyed singing along to Christmas Songs. We were having so much fun, we didn't manage to get a picture (sorry)  x
