We have reviewed the whole christmas festivities/ celebration/ activities at nursery. With the new pedagogy in mind it became evident that the 'production line' approach to christmas productivity was not beneficial to the children's development and well being or the teams 'mental elf' (ha ha )
As you can see from the images on the blog, the activities although christmas themed have instilled 'thrill' , 'will' ,'skill' for the children.
Impact has encouraged the children children to develop their imagination, problem solving skills,social skills, negotiating skills, fine and gross motor skills. They have displayed many characteristics of effective learning.
Having their own ideas
Finding out and exploring
Making predictions
Choosing ways to do things
Keeping trying
Being involved and concentrating
Plus many more learning opportunities that promote maximum development
